The Sacramento Book Collectors Club
celebrated its 75th anniversary this year with an elegant dinner party at a
Sacramento landmark dining establishment which opened the same year as our Club
began. Our Vice-President Lawrence Fox prepared a wonderful broadside for the
occasion. The SBCC's annual James Joyce "Bloomsday Party" with a
mini-marathon reading of "Ulysses" and a pot-luck / pool party is
scheduled for Sunday June 15th at our President's (Maryellen Dabaghian) East Sacramento
historical residence. For July and August our club voted to go to a
12-month year-round schedule for the first time in its 75 years, beginning in
July with a program on Stephen Vincent Benet by President-Emeritus Jay Zil.
Meetings are at 7p.m. on the 2nd Friday of each month (except January and June
for special venues) in the Community Room of the Sacramento Public Library
